Benefits Summary

This Benefits Summary is provided to give you an overview of our various benefits programs.

PTO

Paid Time off (PTO) is accrued upon hire or transfer into a benefit-eligible position. Employees must be scheduled to work at least fifteen hours per week on a regular basis. PTO is available the pay period following completion of 30 days of employment. PTO is accrued each pay period and is prorated based on year of service at Waban: 20 days of PTO first year — 33 PTO days after 10 years of service.

Holiday

Employees receive 11 paid holidays each calendar year.

*Health

Waban pays 90% of the single subscriber rate for 30 - 40/hour per week employees. Employee can elect dependent/family coverage by payroll deduction (Waban pays the 50% of the total rate; employee pays the other 50%).

*Dental

Waban pays 75% of the employee only rate for 30 - 40/hour per week employees. Employee can elect dependent / family coverage by payroll deduction.

**Life

Waban pays for employee life insurance policy equal to $25,000 for eligible employees, plus a $25,000 accidental death and dismemberment coverage. Employees may purchase supplemental insurance for themselves and their family members.

**Disability

Waban pays for short-term and long-term disability insurance (40 hour/week employees only).

Retirement

Employee can begin to contribute immediately to a 403(b) plan. Once an employee becomes eligible, there is a discretionary employer match at the end of the calendar year. Eligible employees must be at least 21 years of age, employed with Waban for one year, and work at least 1,000 hours/year.

E.A.P.

Employee Assistance Program – This service is available through the long-term disability insurance. EAP is a confidential assessment and referral program, fully paid by the agency.

Waban has partnered with local businesses to offer employee discounts on home heating fuel and buying a new vehicle to name a few.

Waban provides paid training and development opportunities based on individual needs and as required by the position.
