Kennebunk Savings Bank Announces 2008 Community Investment Ballot

Cast Your Vote for Your Favorite Non Profit!!

Kennebunk Savings Bank recently notified us that WABAN will be included on their 2008 Community Investment Ballot which they will be mailing to customers in February bank statements and in special mailings to Kennebunk Financial Services and Morris Insurance customers. Based on their customer’s votes, Kennebunk Savings commits a sizeable portion of its earnings to area nonprofits and charitable organizations through this program. Last year that support through the ballot totaled over $120,000 to York County nonprofits and charitable organizations.

Supporters and members of WABAN who are also Kennebunk Savings Bank customers, are entitled to vote and we urge you to cast your vote for your favorite charity (and we hope it will be for WABAN!) Last year WABAN was awarded a grant of $1,725.00. Each vote the Bank received was worth $23 and the Bank received over 5,000 votes!

Thank you to everyone who cast a vote in 2007. We urge you to participate in 2008.

3/17/07   36th ANNUAL WABAN TELETHON

The 36th Annual Waban Telethon was held on Saturday, March 17th, at the Knights of Columbus Hall on High Street in Sanford. The Telethon was sponsored by the St. Therese of Lisieux Parish. In spite of snow, sleet, rain, difficult driving conditions, and technical problems with the phone bank in the afternoon, the community rose to the occasion and this year’s Telethon raised an all-time high of $103,308!

Waban is exceptionally grateful and appreciative for all the tremendous support we received from all the volunteers and donors both before and during the Telethon.
